Throughout the earlier books in this series we travelled with Rani, Tan, Tao Lao, 8tlan, Mary, Hosho and many others through parallel worlds, past and future lives, the Dreamtime, Shambhala and the multidimensional realms, exploring love and loss, the redemption of darker forces, the rise and fall of civilizations, humanity's relationship with artificial intelligence, intergalactic conflict and cooperation, and the gradual merging of Earth with more unified and civilized fields of possibility. Woven throughout these adventures was the understanding that creation itself is far more fluid and multidimensional than it appears, that consciousness and energy interact continuously, and that humanity is participating—knowingly or unknowingly—in the realities it creates.
Homecoming: Gaia Rising, however, begins another journey and can be read entirely on its own, for while some familiar characters and understandings return, this story shifts the viewpoint dramatically. and asks what Earth's extraordinary history might look like through the awareness of Gaia herself, the Through Gaia's deepening communion with 8tlan, Commander of the living starship Elysium, we begin to explore Earth's journey from the perspective of the consciousness that has been present throughout it, while also moving forward into humanity's changing relationship with its cosmic family and with intelligence itself, particularly through Elia, Elysium's warm and highly evolved Symbiotic Intelligence.
As Earth moves from its present experimentation with Artificial Intelligence toward the possibility of Symbiotic Intelligence, we explore what may become possible when intelligence no longer exists primarily within machines, processors and vast data centres but operates in harmonious relationship with consciousness and the greater fields of Infinite Intelligence, just as Elysium herself is no longer simply a starship but a living extension of the collective light fields of those who travel within her. And so, while the earlier books provide a much deeper journey into the many themes and characters that brought us here, none are required reading for Homecoming: Gaia Rising, for this is Gaia's story, Gaia's remembering and Gaia's rising, as humanity, Earth and those who have quietly watched over this extraordinary experiment begin moving together into another stage of the great cosmic adventure.
